I have watched my kids blurt out on many occasions, “mum I’m hungry,” and then I would say ok, "make a sandwich."

Sometimes they make it, but other times their countenance changes. They're either not as hungry anymore, or they plead with me to make it for them lol.

I sometimes respond, “you weren’t really hungry then, because if you were, you would hurry on and make that sandwich!”

𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞? Or do you want it ready-made or someone to prepare it for you?
I will go a little further and say, what if this was a potluck style dinner, and you could only eat what you prepared?
Would you take your time and prepare a dish?
Buy it, or have someone else prepare it for your you?

𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞? How do we want to get an A but don’t even learn and review our notes?
A sobering question yes, but one that deserves a true response.
